Chennai will be launching its first lesbian helpline in a few days and phones have already been ringing! The program is sponsored by the sexual minority NGO, Indian Community Welfare Organisation (ICWO). The helpline is to provide counseling, support, and livelihood assistance to lesbians of the city. So Chennai gals, you can ring 044-65515742 if you need someone to chat with; the lines officially open this Saturday (February 7th).
Now if this sounds like something you would like to get involved with, the helpline is seeking volunteers. As of now only gay men are available to work the lines, the program would ideally like women taking calls. Interested? Contact ICWO, it's a great cause!

this is very good for chennai, they are very much in need for something like this call centre. women in this circumstances need support thatis unavaiable to them anywhere else.
